I had the incredible opportunity to visit Kisumu, a vibrant city buzzing with energy and life. My mission? To connect with students at Kisumu Polytechnic and introduce them to the transformative potential of Cardano and Linkberry. What unfolded was a day filled with learning, walking, and sharing ideas under the blazing Kenyan sun.

The day started at Kisumu Polytechnic, where I met a group of bright, curious students eager to dive into the world of blockchain. I kicked things off with an overview of Cardano, explaining its proof-of-stake protocol and its mission to drive financial inclusion across Africa. The students were quick to grasp the concept, asking sharp questions about scalability and real-world applications. Then, I introduced Linkberry, the Cardano-based project that’s making waves by empowering communities through its token system and networking platform. I shared how Linkberry’s blockchain fosters financial access through donations and staking, while its professional networking arm connects creators and innovators. The connection between Linkberry and Kenya’s growing content creator scene sparked excitement—students saw the potential for local influencers to leverage the platform for collaboration and monetization.

 

After the session, we hit the streets of Kisumu to spread the word. Let me tell you, it was no small feat! We walked for hours, crisscrossing the town from bustling markets to lively street corners. The sun was relentless, beating down on us, and by the end of the day, my legs were screaming, and blisters had claimed my feet. But the energy of Kisumu kept us going. The town was alive—vendors calling out, motorbikes zipping by, and people everywhere going about their day. I couldn’t help but notice the confidence and style of the women in Kisumu, strutting with what locals playfully call “nyash.” It added a colorful vibe to an already dynamic day.

As we walked, we talked about Linkberry’s role in empowering Kenya’s content creators. From YouTubers to TikTokers, Kisumu’s youth are creating content that resonates far beyond the city. We discussed how Linkberry’s networking platform could connect these creators with opportunities, while its blockchain could provide transparent ways to monetize their work. We stopped to chat with passersby, sharing flyers and quick pitches about why Linkberry is a game-changer. The response was electric—people were intrigued, especially when they heard about Cardano’s commitment to sustainability and accessibility.

 

By the time we wrapped up, I was exhausted but exhilarated. My feet may have been battered, and the sun may have left me a shade darker, but the connections we made and the ideas we shared made it all worthwhile. Kisumu’s students and residents showed me the power of community and curiosity. They’re ready to embrace tools like Cardano and Linkberry to build a brighter, more inclusive future.
